Sami was born on August 16, 1988, in Coral Springs, Florida, with her two loving parents. She had a father who was a geeky computer technician and a stay-at-home mother who loved to dress Sami in cutesy bows and dresses until Sami decided, "Eff this crap" and started playing sports. She was an only child, so naturally, with this lack of siblings, her closest friends became self-adopted, and even today, is considered like a sister to most.
Growing up in Florida, Sami made friends mostly with boys, and very scarcely made friends with girls. She was your average nerdy tomboy, and just so happened to live on an all-boy street. She lived on this street for five years when her parents decided to move to Northeast Tennessee, when daddy decided to open up a hobby business.
Even at a young age, Sami always had a knack for drawing. She started out when she was in the fifth grade and broke her collarbone playing basketball with the boys in gym class. Being stuck at home for a couple of months, she sat in front of the television watching Pokemon: The Movie on repeat. In doing this, she froze the screen and drew what she saw. In doing this, she trained herself in drawing, mostly cartoons. She was always fascinated with characters and story plots, so not only did she draw, but she also wrote.
After Sami's move to Tennessee, she began high school. She never associated herself with any type of group as most high schoolers do (since everything was a popularity contest). She was friends with everyone, and had few enemies. High school went by quickly as it does for most people.
Four years later, Sami started the next chapter of her life: college. She attended East Tennessee State University, and lived at home with the same loving, yet crazy, parents. She continued her interest in art and took it up as her major. She continues to work with different styles and drawing techniques to find exactly what she enjoys and wants to do.
Sami graduated from East Tennessee State University with Bachelors of Art in December 2011. Currently Sami resides in New Albany, IN working a well-paid desk job while taking online courses with Imaginism Studios Inc. and looking into a MFA with the Academy of Art in San Francisco.
